Course Structure
The Master of Psychology (Sport & Exercise) is a two-year full-time program (or part-time equivalent) delivered across four 12-week semesters. The course combines skills-based teaching, development of core professional competencies, sport- and exercise-specific psychological training, three supervised placements, and an independent research project.

Coursework units include weekly learning tasks alongside two major assessment components, assessed according to ISN’s Policies and Procedures. The first placement is completed through ISN’s Work Integrated Learning hubs, allowing students to apply foundational skills before progressing to advanced external placements with partner organisations.
ISN’s partnership network provides diverse training opportunities, including assisting clients with goal-setting in collaboration with coaches, delivering small-group psychoeducation on psychological skills, and running individual or group sessions on recovery and wellbeing strategies such as relaxation training.

Most 10-credit point coursework units require approximately six hours of personal study each week, in addition to workshops and online engagement. Placement attendance is two days per week. Flexible part-time pathways and personalised study sequences are available to support student progress. Further information is available in ISN’s policies on our website.
