Summary
Emeritus Professor Sabine Hammond has extensive experience as a researcher, educator and practitioner in Australia, Europe, and the United States. She joined the Institute of Social Neuroscience (ISN Psychology) in 2020 as Professor of Clinical Psychology and Director of Clinical and Professional Programs. She has continued to support the postgraduate professional programs at ISN as Emeritus Professor since 2024. She has held leadership roles in both academic and professional settings, including as former Head of School and Honorary Professor of Australian Catholic University and as Executive Manager at the Australian Psychological Society, and as a member on higher education, regulatory, and not-for-profit boards.
Emeritus Professor Hammond’s expertise includes governance, and ethics and professional practice and regulation. Emeritus Professor Hammond has been actively involved in initiatives aimed at reconciliation with Australia’s First Peoples, especially in the areas of cultural safety, suicide prevention, and training a culturally responsive workforce. She is a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
