Summary
Professor Jaclyn Broadbent is Pro Vice-Chancellor Academic Experience at Deakin University in the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE). She has previously served as Pro Vice-Chancellor Sessional Academic Experience, Deputy Head of School, and Associate Head of School (Teaching and Learning) in Deakin’s School of Psychology.
Holding doctorates in both Psychology and Education, her research focuses on online self-regulated learning and teaching strategies to enhance student success. She is particularly interested in the role of feedback and digital technologies, including generative AI, in improving outcomes for large student cohorts. Jaclyn has been awarded $2.2 million in research funding, published 57 articles and book chapters, and has more than 7,800 citations with an H-index of 30 and an i10 index of 39 (Google Scholar).
Beyond research, she plays a key role in shaping academic policy and governance, contributing to the development of academic standards across the university. Recognised for her innovative teaching, she has received the Australian Award for University Teaching and been named Deakin’s Teacher of the Year twice.
